President KL Goh has proposed for a new Committee structure for the new term which adds an Assistant Treasurer position. 1) Ipoh trip
Date: 13 Nov 2010 (Saturday)
Meeting Place: 7.00 am-7.30 am at A&W car park, near AmCorp Mall, PJ
The bus will depart at 7.30 am so please be punctual.
Note that the itinerary for the trip has been changed slightly to accommodate some time for an AV show and shooting at the Kek Lok Tong cave temple.
Amril will be giving out the latest itinerary and the heritage trial route when boarding the bus.  Please bring your tripod since we will be shooting in a cave.

Note: Although all seats have been taken up, there may be some last minute seats available from members who can't make it at the last moment.

Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival 2010

Please be informed that there will be KLPF 2010 from 29 to 31 October, 2010 (11:00am - 09:00pm) at Midvalley Exhibition Centre. See you there!

Come visit PSPJ at Booth G8. Bring your family and friends along and get them signed up as PSPJ members. Again we are offering a waiver on the registration fee for new members so it's only RM50 to join. A bargain really for the activities we offer.

This is the best time of the year to get your photographic accessories like tripods etc, and to check out the latest camera and lenses from the distributors. Apart from the shopping and model photo shoots, there are the photography and travel seminars. Check out the schedules here:

PSPJ is holding a one-day Enjoy Photography Workshop, a photography workshop for beginners, on Sunday 5 September 2010.

The course is free for those who signed up during the KL Photograohy Festival 2009 in August last year and during the DCIM Show 2010 in May.
For other members the fee is RM100. We have limited seats for 40 persons and acceptance will be on a first-come-first-served basis.

It won't be an actual outing where we go as a group but we will be having a photo challenge (submit 3 of your best pictures) taken during Chinese New Year-- anything related to Chinese New Year will be accepted. So during this long Chinese New Year weekend, get your camera out and capture scenes of the celebrations and decorations.

2nd photo outing for February

Meeting place: 8am, Opposite the Police Station in Sekinchan town.

Themes: There will be 2 themes:
1. Landscape (typically is the vast paddy fields which at this time of the year will be close to harvesting time with some fields already being harvested).
2. General - other than landscape which includes people etc.

Technique: Bring along a tripod and a remote shutter release. The best time to shoot is the blue hour which is after sunset (7.07pm on 27 Sep 09) and lasts between civil twilight and nautical twilight (7.28pm - 7.52pm on 27 Sept 09).

Location: Ramadan Bazaar, Masjid India
Meeting place: 5pm at the Masjid Jamek LRT (on the Majid India side i.e. across the road from Masjid Jamek). We will have a group picture here then head towards the Majid India area.
Theme: Street photography. The images should depict the scenes of the human activity around the Masjid India area with focus on the Ramadan Bazaar which is set up during the fasting month.
